Dear Church Family,
Today is Palm Sunday. The day of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The event was highly documented and perennially celebrated. But one thing has always bothered me. Why did it occur? Why was it the major event that it was? Over the course of his life and ministry, Jesus had been to Jerusalem many times. No one ever made a fuss about him before. So, what was different this time. Why did they greet him like a king? Why lay down their clothing and palm branches before him and shout Hosannahs?
