Dear Church Family,
Atonement means reparation for an offense or injury. It’s an action that renews harmony with another; enabling you to be reconciled with someone else. Atonement is a very broad term that represents being “At One” with another person in whatever form that might take. It doesn’t mean your original offense or injury is forgotten or even forgiven, but that it is overcome in some form so that you might be once again aligned with the one you wronged.
Salvation, on the other hand, means deliverance from the power and effects of sin, and is quite confined in its meaning or interpretation. Simply put, it is a gift of mercy and grace granted to an individual by God for that person’s benefit.
Please listen to today’s service to learn how Jesus provided us both atonement and salvation through his life, death, resurrection and ascension.
Blessings,
Pastor Rick
