Dear Church Family,
Happy 4th of July. Today’s message is about Paul’s statement that “I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.” He is putting all of his reliance on Jesus in response to Christ saying “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I agree with Paul. Only by relying on Christ, and not ourselves, can we become powerful in the sense of being a source of support, instruction and spiritual leadership for others. This kind of spiritual power never seeks to dominate or control others, or claim superiority; it’s truly servant leadership. That’s the way ministers should be, and the way each of us should be as we interact with others throughout our lives.
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Independence Day weekend.
Blessings,
Pastor Rick
