This week we are celebrating the Ascension of the Lord signifying the conclusion of Jesus’ earthly ministry and the long series of events which had begun with his incarnation enabling him to graduate from his life in the flesh to his life in glory. Through the ascension God brought his son back to heaven in order for Jesus to begin his new ministry sitting by his Father’s side and paving the way for us to follow him to our heavenly home.
The pastoral prayer this week was partially based on an Ascension Day prayer by Rev. Bryce Calder.
We are also celebrating Memorial Day this weekend. We thank all those who have served in our military services, especially those that have paid the ultimate price for our country. This is especially important this year since there will be no parades or ceremonies due to the COVID-19 virus. Regardless, our hearts and prayers go out to them, and we will be forever indebted to them for their sacrifice.
I hope you all remain safe and healthy. And, I look forward to gathering together again soon.
Blessings,
Pastor Rick
